Alcoholic fermentation arrested 1/3 through. Fortified to 16.6% abv and left with 10% residual sugar. Aged 27 months in neutral oak. Syrah was chosen for fortification as per its intensely fruit forward aromatic profile, now bolstered by the high residual sugar content. Blackberry, cinnamon, and anise remain primarily evident over an easily palatable and viscous mouthfeel. Color remains youthful and deep, minimal oxidation has allotted 2020’s port no tawny characteristics. Bottle age up to 10 years.
